Celebrating Dad {FREE FATHER'S DAY PRINTABLE} | Duluth Moms Blog

Here at Duluth Moms Blog, we think that all you moms are amazing. After all, “moms” is in our name and you are the reason we do what we do. But we also think that dads are worth celebrating, too! Father’s Day is Sunday, which gives us all the perfect opportunity to show those dads (and grandpas) in your life that you love and appreciate them. Gifts and a nice meal are definitely a great way to show that appreciation, but make sure you share encouraging words, too!

A lot of men, including my own husband, feel loved through words of affirmation. Some of the things that make his heart melt the most are when our girls say, in their own way, just how much they love and appreciate him. Just the other day my 5 year old told him, “Daddy, I love you more than ballet!” That may sound silly, but she LOVES ballet and he knows that. So her choosing to express her love in that way meant so much to him. My 2 year old will simply say, “Best Daddy EVER!” or “Daddy is the strongest!” That is her way of expressing the extent of her love in her own toddler way. And again, those words mean so much to my husband as he is being affirmed as a dad.

Maybe it seems pretty simple or obvious, but don’t forget to let your kids express their love for their dad this Father’s Day. Make a card, write a note, or just simply have them say (in their own words) how much they love their dad.
