Duluth Parks & Recreation

Duluth Parks & Recreation Day Camps offer a wide range of activities for youth to have fun, make friends, and enjoy time outside this summer.

Offerings include full weeks of Day Camp (M-F 7:30am-5pm) to start and end the summer, with other weeks providing a variety of exciting half-day options such as Wizards & Warlocks Camp, Archery Camp, Fishing Camp, and more!

Parks & Recreation also offers Friday Fun, a full day of program on each Friday of the summer that rotates to different community centers across Duluth.

Covenant Park Bible Camp

Covenant Park offers summer youth camps for kids and teens entering 1st grade through recent grads, as well as getaway weekends for the whole family to enjoy a camp experience together.

Each experience is packed with fun activities like swimming, climbing wall and zipline, games, kayaking, tubing, trips to the canteen, night games, camp fires, interactive teaching on daily lessons, songs and skits, all in an environment centered on friendships old and new and growing closer to Jesus.

Duluth YMCA - Camp Miller

Camp Miller is a co-ed, overnight and day camp in Sturgeon Lake, Minnesota, right in the middle of 340 acres of tall pines, beautiful shoreline, and miles of trails.

Each summer over 600 campers of all ages experience the wonders of day camp, residential camp and family camp at Camp Miller. Camp Miller encourages kids and families to explore the outdoor world through boating, swimming, shooting sports, fishing, climbing, hiking, biking, or hanging out by a campfire.

Camp Miller is the perfect spot for kids from ages 4-12 to participate in Day Camp, kids in 2nd grade-high school have the opportunity to gain independence at our overnight camp, or the whole family can join us for cabin rentals/family camp.

Spirit Mountain Summer Camps are the place for adventure for your child this summer!  Both mountain biking and non-biking camp are available for children ages 3 – 14 years old. All camps are staffed by trained counselors and coaches and safety is always the top priority. Camp at Spirit ROCKS!!

Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center

Wolf Ridge camp for K-12 students offers a range of experiences, from shorter overnight stays for younger students, traditional sleepaway camps for older students, and school credit courses for high schoolers. Students can spend their time at Wolf Ridge, or join one of our naturalist guides on a multi-week wilderness expedition into places like the Boundary Waters, the Quetico Wilderness, and Lake Superior islands.

Our spectacular campus is on 2,000-acres bordered by the Baptism River. It features creeks, two lakes, two high peaks, 18-miles of trail, and a mixed forest of maple, birch, and spruce with abundant wildlife. Facilities include five classroom buildings, two dormitories, a dining hall, a working organic farm, a raptor aviary, a library, two auditoriums, two rock-climbing walls, two outdoor ropes courses, and land on Lake Superior.

The Duluth Playhouse

The Duluth Playhouse offers week-long acting and musical theater camps for ages 5 – 18! In our acting camps students will audition and be cast in a short play. Actors focus on teamwork, role-playing, character work, and building confidence. In our musical theater camps students will learn songs and dances from Broadway musicals. Sing, dance and act with us all summer long!

Wednesday at the Races

Helping to ignite a love of running at a young age, our Wednesday Night at the Races summer series is free and open at all children ages 14 & under. Scheduled each year in July & August, this program is central to our mission of helping to provide pathways and opportunities for our community’s kids to live healthy and active lifestyles. Whether it’s your child’s first-ever race or they’ve just fallen in love with running, we’d love to see them at our next event!

Duluth YMCA Day Camps

Get ready for a summer packed with fun and time in the great outdoors at the YMCA Day Camp in the Duluth and Hermantown area. The YMCA provides safe, engaging, high-quality programming that ensures this will be another summer to remember at the YMCA at the Essentia Wellness Center and North Star Academy.

The program runs from June 20 – August 26, 2022 (Closed July 4th)

Registration is now open, email or call to register! There is no deadline to register, but camp registrations will close when the week is full.

Key Zone | Duluth Mom summer camp

K.E.Y. Zone

K.E.Y. Zone is a collaborative program of the Duluth YMCA and Duluth Public Schools. The program serves youth in grades K- 5 year-round. The summer program is located at Laura MacArthur, Lowell, Ordean East, and Lester Park Schools.  Come join us for fun, safe, and high-quality programming, which includes weekly field trips and themed activities.

The program runs from June 20 – August 26, 2022 (Closed July 4th) 6:30am-6:00pm and is open to any student who has completed K-5th grade.

Registration opens on March 7, 2022 and closes on June 3 or when site is full (families must register for at least 20-days). Visit to register.

Explore the world of Minecraft, connect creatively with nature, and experiment with fiber arts, printmaking, painting, drawing, ceramics, and more! Half-day and full-day camps for emerging artists offer exploration in specific media, while camps for younger artists encourage mess, play, and discovery. Great Lakes Academy of Fine Art

As drawing is the foundation of artistic practice, an emphasis is placed on teaching the fundamentals of drawing logically and simply. Designed for youth ages 10-18, our Drawing and Painting Fundamentals Class begins with drawing exercises in black and white using pencil and pen and ink and after basic skills are learned, students advance to watercolor.

Summer Classes begin June 15th – August 4th and students may choose to attend one of five class times for the 8 Week course: Wednesdays 10am-12pm, 1-3pm, or 4-6pm or Thursdays 10am-12pm or 1-3pm. $200/student
