Over the past year, we’ve had the privilege of working with our local friends at both St. Luke’s and the Glensheen to produce the much anticipated Duluth Moms Blog Birthday Gala and it has been our absolute pleasure.

Several of our own writers and team members have had experiences within St. Luke’s  walls (everything from delivering bundles of joy in their brand new birthing center, to surgery, and urgent care visits), and we are always delighted when our readers share their own St. Luke’s stories with us.

We were thrilled that the Glensheen invited us back and helped us host another event in the most stunning mansion this side of Lake Superior. Many Minnesota families have visited the Glensheen over the years, but if you haven’t yet, we recommend you catch yourself a glimpse of this beautiful estate ASAP. Let it’s beauty wow you the next time you take a tour!

FIRST ANNUAL BIRTHDAY GALA RECAP

Our gala on Thursday, December 14th was a BLAST to say the least! Picture it: over one hundred women, mostly moms, decked out in their finest holiday wear, which ranged from sequin-adorned tops to gowns and everything in between. We were all EXCITED to have the opportunity to trade in our day duds for something a little snazzier.

We want to thank all of you for spending the evening with us. It’s truly humbling to see how many of you came ready to celebrate, and the team loved getting to meet those of you who read our words and take part in our online community. Watching moms make connections with each other–both online and in person–is why we do what we do. We strive to provide you with the highest quality events possible and continue to be humbled by your response to our efforts. We had a great time socializing and dancing with you and we hope you enjoyed your night off from parenting! Thank you for coming and for getting into the spirit!

GIVING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY

We care deeply about our community and admire the businesses who make a difference here in the Northland. Each time we put on a Duluth Moms Blog event, we partner with a local organization to donate a portion of our ticket sales in support of their mission. Part of the Birthday Gala proceeds was given to Project Joy, an organization that works in conjunction with Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank to provide weekend backpacks filled with food for local children and families in Northeastern Minnesota and Northwestern Wisconsin.

We have been honored to partner with Northland Special Events for the past several DMB events and love everything Mariah creates for us. NSE encompasses three amazing businesses under one roof, including Duluth Balloon Company and Fluertation.
